The final of the 2022 BRICS Vocational Skills Competition, hosted by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security, dropped the curtain in Xiamen on Nov 6.

Yu Qilong, a teacher from the Department of Information Engineering of our institute, and Gao Wenyang, a student, represented Hebei Province to participate in the international finals of 5G network construction and operation and maintenance technology application competition. After two days of fierce competition, they won the silver medal and the first prize.

BRICS Vocational Skills Competition is the first international competition sponsored by the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China, the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Security of the People's Republic of China, the BRICS Business Council and the Xiamen Municipal Government, and undertaken by China Education Association for International Exchange, the Vocational Education Development Center of the Ministry of Education and the BRICS Business Council Skills Development Working Group. Over 3,500 international teams from Brazil, Russia, India, South Africa and other countries, as well as over 6,200 domestic teams from various provinces and cities in China have registered for the 26 events, with nearly 20,000 participants. After several rounds of selection and fierce competition, more than 1,600 teams and nearly 2,500 contestants entered the final. The final will be held in the form of online competition for foreign players and offline competition for domestic players.

This achievement has fully demonstrated the effectiveness of our school's education and teaching reform. In the future, the college will bear in mind the "State Affairs", continue to train diverse talents, inherit technical skills, promote employment and entrepreneurship as an important responsibility, continue to deepen the integration of industry and education, innovate school-enterprise cooperation mode, strengthen vocational skills training, and contribute more to the high-quality development of vocational education.
