The Department of Information Engineering, founded in 2006, now offers 6 majors including Computer Application Technology, Software Technology, Big Data Technology and Application, Communication technology, Information Security and Management, and Internet of Things Application Technology, with 2,064 students. The major of Software Technology is the key major of the school during the 12th Five-Year Plan and the 13th Five-Year Plan period. The major of Computer Application Technology was set up in 1983 and is one of the first similar majors established in our province. The Department of Information Engineering has always trained a large number of high-quality skilled talents in the field of information technology in Hebei Province by closely combining the talents quality and post ability requirements of enterprises in the industry.

At present, the department of Information Engineering has 61 full-time and part-time teachers, 28 full-time teachers and 33 part-time teachers (enterprise front-line engineers), including 8 professors and associate professors, 2 Hebei Province " Three Threes Talents " Project, 10 "Hebei Province Technical Expert", 14 "Hebei Province Electronic Industry Technical Expert", 4 provincial judges and 20 senior technicians. It is a team of teachers with scientific professional structure, reasonable age echelon, high teaching ability, strong professional skills and great development potential.

The department has 6 professional training rooms, including software development, network and information security, communication, computer hardware, Internet of Things and WeChat mini programs, and 6 basic training rooms. The total area of the campus training is more than 1,500 square meters, and the value of professional training equipment is more than 7.5 million yuan.

Since 2006, the teachers and students of our department have participated in more than 300 skill competitions at all levels and achieved fruitful results. We have won 1 world-class award, 4 national awards and more than 100 provincial awards. In 2014, won the winning prize in the World Finals of the Business Software project of the 43rd WorldSkills Competition, and won the first and second place in the national trials. In 2019, the Big Data and Application competition of the National Vocational College Skills Competition won the national second prize (ranking 16th), and the software test project won the national third prize. It won the first prize in the staff group, the first prize in the student group and the first, second and third prize in the individual in Hebei Electronic Information Vocational Skills Competition in 2017 and 2018; From 2014 to 2016, it won the first place in the staff group of Computer Debugging Project of Hebei Electronic Information Vocational Skills Competition for three consecutive years.
